Amarillo Chapter Historical Notes

CHARTER

Whereas: The undersigned have qualified for membership in THE NATIONAL SECRETARIES ASSOCIATION (INTERNATIONAL)

NOW, THEREFORE, THE NATIONAL SECRETARIES ASSOCIATION (INTERNATIONA) by the authority of its Bylaws, and the rules and regulations adopted in annual conventions assembled, do hereby grant unto Amarillo Chapter, Amarillo, Texas this Charter.

IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, we, as President and Secretary, hereunto set our hand and affix the seal of THE NATIONAL SECRETARIES ASSOCIATION (INTERNATIONAL), this 21st day of October, 1976.

IAAP Milestones in Amarillo

• 1952 - The first Texas-Louisiana Division Annual Meeting is held in Amarillo. The meeting is hosted by the Palo Duro Chapter. One of the chapters from South Texas (it may have been Magic Valley Chapter) brings onions to sell as a Ways & Means Project
• 1981 - Amarillo Chapter hosts the Texas-Louisiana Division Annual Meeting
• 1981 - Rachelle Redd, one of the Amarillo Chapter charter members, is elected to the T-L Division Board and serves for four years, holding the offices of Treasurer, Second Vice President, President Elect and President
• 1984 - Palo Duro Chapter merges with Amarillo Chapter
• 1992 - Amarillo Chapter hosts the T-L Division Annual Meeting
• 2010 - Amarillo Chapter again hosts the T-L Division Annual Meeting
• 2011 - Emily Garner (member since 1996) is elected to the T-L Division Board and serves two years, holding the office of Treasurer
